Greetings from the Swaps

Greeting from the Swaps is a buffoon play created by Pepe Galera and Rocío Bernal in 2012. Their first work as Cía Deconné, a personal bet, an experiment aimed at putting into practice how to create a raw spectacle leaving aside the preconceived format and timing, to be led by impulses and feelings. Through what is considered as the ugliness of the buffoon we look for beauty, and through their insanity we look for the truth.

This show received the 2012 Murcia’s XX Creajoven Contest first price for Performing Arts.

Plot Summary

Greetings. Welcome. We wish you the best, honestly we wish you the best… from the swamps. Welcome to our world of buffoons, different human beings and monsters, as horrible as adorable and vulnerably mighty. We, the outcast, the exiled, the denied, compromise in our meeting to be deeply honest. In exchange we ask you just for one thing: leave aside all the embarrassment to admire and enjoy the immense beauty of our deformities.
